Sometimes your computer's connection to the scanner becomes disconnected. For the scanner to start functioning again you need to open use the Epson software to reconnect.
First, please make sure that you are selecting the correct device when trying to scan.

If the application you are using gives you an error you will have to use the Epson Scan 2 application to reconnect.

When you launch the application you will be given the choice to connect to the scanner. Please do so. The application will reconnect and you will be given the options to use the scanner. The scanner is now connected and will work in any other application of your choosing.
